A Family from Vietnam
By Simon Scoones
"Not a toddler's book, but [our daughter] has loved it since we got it. With photographs, it shows a real family -- father, mother, three kids
-- and their house, their meals, their extended family, school, work, everything,
all in way that does not call for comparisons to life in the US, and is
not judgmental. Though this family's from the north near Hanoi and we were
in the south, the scenes in the pictures felt very familiar from our trip.
I like having these images, aside from our own trip pictures, to share with
our daughter about Vietnam. (Kathy Malloy)
