Vietnam Adoption Program Description: As one of the first ten agencies to receive a new license from Vietnam, Children's Hope had families returning home with their babies in spring 2006. Children's Hope is currently working with five orphanages in three southern provinces for families interested in adopting from Vietnam.
Currently Children's Hope is working in 3 provinces: HCMC (Saigon), Kien Giang and Vinh Long. Children's Hope has bi-lingual representatives that meet you at the airport and accompany you to all appointments including CIS interview and American Consulate appointment. A trip to Mekong Delta is included in your adoption fees (Additional touring available for additional fees). The total adoption trip is two to three weeks long.
Parents are required to take eight hours of adoption education training. In States where CHI is licensed, training is provided for families. Training is also available on line for Children's Hope families.
Humanitarian Work in VN: Children's Hope maintained their humanitarian
aid work in Vietnam during the three year adoption moratorium. In 2003
and 20 at the airport and will be with you the entire two-to-three week
adoption trip. In 2004 Children's Hope spent about $100,000 in aid and
for 2005 almost $124,000. Some of our projects include; formula for infants
and meals for older children, HIV medication, physical therapy equipment
for orphans, salaries for physical therapists, lunches for handicapped
students, remodeling of infant room, purchasing cribs and beds for orphans,
cloth diapers for poor orphanages, air conditioners for infant rooms and
flood donations to hart hit areas. For the latest on our humanitarian

Requirements: Parents ages 25-50 can adopt an infant. Over 50 must be open to adopt a child over 1-year-old. Single Women accepted. Persons previously divorced accepted. Both boys and girls available but the process is longer for families adopting a girl. There are healthy children as well as special needs children available.
