Adoption agencies who wish to place children from Vietnam must be approved by the Vietnamese national government. This is approval is formalized by a Vietnamese adoption license. Once an adoption agency receives its Vietnam license, they are added to the list of approved adoption agencies maintained by the US Embassy in Hanoi.
